Hornets, also called wasps are some of the weakest, abeit most annoying, monsters on Lyoko. They look like giant wasps and are a sickly green-yellow color. They have one laser, the generic red laser, commonly refered to as their stinger, as it is located were an actual wasp stinger would be. Its Eye of Xana is located on its head. It has ten hornet-like wings that make an incesent buzzing noise. This noise is constant, as Hornets has no legs, or any means of ground transport. Hornets are never intentionally alone, and move in groups of three.

To Team Lyoko, Hornets are not a formitable threat for the most part, and are usually used by XANA as distractions. Ulrich, Yumi, and Odd like to separate the hornets by having one Hornet following each of them. Because the monsters are smaller than most other monsters, and thier Eye of Xana is also small, they are quite tricky to hit. Yumi tends to aim for the Hornets' wings. If her fans make contact, all the monster's wings will be sliced off and they will fall to the ground. This automatically kills the monsters, as they cannot move on the ground.
